Tengrinews.kz - A fire broke out in a six-story mansard-style dormitory in Astana on the morning of April 9, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The blaze started on the sixth floor of the building located on Bulanty Street. Firefighters quickly deployed smoke protection units and began search and rescue operations. Water was supplied to the fire site without interruption.
Fifty people, including seven children, were evacuated safely. No injuries were reported.
The fire was fully extinguished, covering an area of 1,600 square meters.
Fire investigation specialists and forensic experts are working at the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
Earlier in Almaty, a fire broke out at the Halyk Arena Ice Palace.
