Tengrinews.kz – A video allegedly showing Kazakh UFC fighter Shavkat Rakhmonov arriving at court for his wife Gulayym’s case has gone viral on social media. Tengrinews.kz contacted the fighter’s team to clarify the details.

Videos began circulating online claiming to show the undefeated UFC fighter from Kazakhstan attending court proceedings involving his wife, Gulayym.

Earlier, it was reported that Rakhmonov’s wife and son were involved in a car accident on a highway in the Zhambyl region, which resulted in two fatalities.

A Tengrinews.kz correspondent spoke with Shavkat Rakhmonov’s coach, Eduard Bazrov, who stated that the viral video is fake and was edited from footage of Rakhmonov’s earlier trip to Konaev.

“This video was filmed in Konaev. Shavkat was invited there by prosecutors. The video circulating online is fake,” Eduard Bazrov told Tengri Sport.

The car accident involving Gulayym Rakhmonova and her son occurred on July 27, 2025. Police reported that at the 299th kilometer of the Almaty–Yekaterinburg highway, the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser 200, traveling from the Karaganda region toward Almaty, lost control and overturned the vehicle.

Two women died as a result of the accident. The wife and son of the renowned fighter were hospitalized, with their condition assessed as moderate.

Later, the Zhambyl regional police department released footage from the scene of the fatal accident, showing an overturned SUV with severe body damage. One wheel had been torn off and lay separately from the vehicle, with debris scattered around.
