Tengrinews.kz - A Russian citizen, wanted internationally for committing a robbery in Astana, has been arrested in Alicante, Spain, at the request of the National Bureau of Interpol, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry, in 2016, the man, as part of a group, illegally entered a house and used violence to seize property worth more than 4 million tenge.
"The detainee is currently in custody pending a decision on his extradition to our country," the statement from the ministry said.
Earlier, a Kazakhstani woman has been extradited from Turkey, suspected of embezzlement on a large scale, according to the Prosecutor General's Office. It is reported that between 2022 and 2023, while working as an accountant for a commercial organization in Almaty, the suspect embezzled approximately 27 million tenge by falsifying payment orders.
