The ministry’s press service published the announcement on its Telegram channel on Monday, 16 February.

“The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan is carrying out a scheduled inspection of the military command bodies and military units of the Armed Forces. In this regard, from 16 to 18 February, military equipment will be moved in the cities of Almaty, Konaev and Taldykorgan,” the statement says.

It is explained that in certain sections of motor roads, temporary traffic restrictions are possible.

The ministry called on citizens, media representatives and social media users not to trust unreliable information and to rely exclusively on official sources.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defence reported that reserve officers will be called up for military service. This measure is being implemented in accordance with the law “On Military Service and Status of Military Servants” and is aimed at increasing the combat readiness of the Armed Forces and forming a trained military reserve.

According to a government decree, 700 reserve officers will be assigned to the Armed Forces, 80 to the Border Service, 64 to the National Guard and 15 to the Ministry for Emergency Situations.
