Tengrinews.kz - A section of the Astana–Shiderty–Pavlodar–Uspenka highway was flooded overnight on March 19 due to melting snow.
The flooding was caused by an overflow of meltwater across the roadway. The affected section spans 100-150 meters, with water levels reaching 5-8 centimeters.
According to "KazAvtoZhol," the area is a low-lying section of the road, which contributed to water accumulation. A one-meter-diameter drainage pipe at the 217th kilometer has been opened and cleared.
To mitigate the flooding, 200 tons of sand and 800 sandbags have been prepared. The response team includes an excavator, a loader, three dump trucks, and two road maintenance vehicles.
As of 10:30 A.M., traffic is moving normally, with no congestion reported.
Earlier, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting of the national headquarters to coordinate flood prevention measures.
