Tengrinews.kz – A carousel in one of Almaty’s amusement parks came to a halt with visitors on board, leaving dozens of people stranded high above the ground.
The incident occurred on April 13, when the Top Skan ride—commonly known as Daisy —suddenly stopped mid-operation, suspending numerous visitors in the air.
According to the park administration, the ride stopped due to a safety sensor activation.
“At 3:08 PM, the Top Skan ride stopped. By 3:16 PM, all visitors had been safely evacuated. No one was injured, and there were no complaints from guests. The situation was fully under control by the park’s engineers,” said Viktor Danilov, administrator of the Fantasy World park.

He also noted that the faulty safety sensor was replaced the same day.
“All rides are inspected daily by in-house engineers before the park opens. Additionally, a government oversight agency performs monthly inspections—everything is checked, right down to the smallest cracks,” he added.
Despite the fact that many of the park's rides are decades old, the administration emphasized that with proper maintenance, their operational lifespan is unlimited.
