Tengrinews.kz – Residents of Taraz have been receiving anonymous reports of explosive devices planted in the city for several days, according to KTK.
On February 17, all services urgently went to one of the schools and a polytechnic college. Anonymous people threatened to blow them up. Before that, it was reported that three kilograms of TNT had been planted in a large shopping mall.
The first report came in on the night of February 15. An unknown person warned the police about a bomb in a large shopping and entertainment center in Taraz. Two thousand people were evacuated from the center during the evacuation. The employees did not find any TNT. The next day, an anonymous person "mined" a school and a college. Nothing was found there either. The prankster, who now faces a criminal sentence, is still being sought.
"An event to check the buildings was immediately organized. As a result of the check, no explosive devices were found. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into this incident. The Zhambyl Region Police Department reminds about criminal liability for knowingly false reporting of an impending act of terrorism," the police press service reported.
