Tengrinews.kz - Authorities have announced when the observation deck at the Mangilik El Triumphal Arch in Astana will reopen.
The observation deck at the Triumphal Arch stopped operating in 2022. Now, after 3 years, it will once again open its doors to the public.
The Astana Department of Construction and Housing Policy told Tengrinews.kz that the arch is currently undergoing repairs. Construction work is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
"The Triumphal Arch is temporarily closed to visitors due to renovation work. All construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, after which the observation deck will reopen," the department stated.
The exterior appearance of the site will remain unchanged, as the work does not affect the facade, the department clarified.
When was the Triumphal Arch opened?
The Mangilik El Triumphal Arch was inaugurated on December 16, 2011, in honor of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
In May 2017, the observation deck on the arch was officially opened. At that time, the entrance fee was 500 tenge for adults and 250 tenge for children.
The arch is 21.5 meters tall, and offers a panoramic view in all directions over the left bank of the capital. Binoculars are available on site to help tourists get a closer look at the surrounding buildings.
