Tengrinews.kz - On March 14, as part of the celebration of Korisu kuni (Meeting Day - ed.), Almaty will host a promotion for foreign guests jointly with the Border Service of the National Security Committee and Almaty International Airport, according to a statement from the Almaty akimat.
Passengers arriving in the city on international flights will receive special guides to Almaty. This route guide will help tourists easily navigate the city, get acquainted with its sights, and learn more about cultural traditions. The guide also contains information on transport and city services so that guests can comfortably move around the metropolis.
The promotion is expected to cover more than 5 thousand passengers on over 50 international flights.
The initiative is part of the Best City Experience program, which aims to improve the quality of tourism services and create a positive image of Almaty as a welcoming and culturally rich destination.
“According to Mastercard, a high level of service contributes to an increase in the number of repeat visits: in 2024, their share reached 25%. In recent years, Almaty’s tourist attractiveness has increased significantly, as evidenced by the growth in the number of flights and an increase in the number of bookings, especially from China and Turkey,” the statement said.
Korisu kuni is a holiday that symbolizes friendliness, openness, and a warm attitude towards everyone who comes to Kazakhstan. It is based on the tradition of exchanging handshakes and kind words, strengthening ties between people.
