Tengrinews.kz - A message is circulating on WhatsApp about a group of people who are going door-to-door pretending to be police officers. They allegedly check identification cards and collect biometric data, according to StopFake.
The message includes photos and an audio file, in which a distressed female voice explains that the perpetrators are carrying tablets and coming up with various excuses to enter apartments. The Ministry of Internal Affairs commented on the message.
"This information is false. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds social media users that the dissemination of deliberately false information through mass media or communication networks is punishable by law. We recommend trusting only official sources," the official statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs reads.
