Tengrinews.kz — The President of Kenya has arrived in Astana, citing Akorda.
President William Ruto of Kenya has arrived in Kazakhstan for a state visit at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
He was welcomed at the capital's airport by Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yermek Kosherbayev.

On May 20, high-level talks will be held to discuss prospects for developing trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The signing of several bilateral documents is also planned.
As a reminder, in 2023, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Kenyan President William Ruto. During that meeting, the leaders discussed expanding trade and economic relations. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kenya is of particular interest for cooperation as one of the most prosperous nations on the African continent.

"I follow your country’s development, its economic and foreign policy, and I am ready to join efforts to bring Kazakh-Kenyan cooperation to a new level," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated previously.
For his part, William Ruto invited Kazakh companies to actively invest in the Kenyan economy, including exploring the possibility of expanding the Port of Mombasa by constructing a grain terminal.
At that time, President Tokayev informed his counterpart of plans to send a trade mission to Kenya to explore potential opportunities for strengthening cooperation. He also noted the importance of engaging with African states both bilaterally and within multilateral organizations, primarily the UN.
During that meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited William Ruto to pay a visit to Kazakhstan.
