Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan has introduced, for the first time, a single seven-year term for the head of state and a ban on close relatives of the president holding high-ranking positions. He called this a unique political and legal innovation.
Tokayev made the statement today at the scientific-practical conference “Constitution and Statehood: Dialogue of Law and the Future,” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He emphasized that a unique model of governance has taken shape in Kazakhstan.
“The public administration system has begun to operate under new principles, making political processes much more understandable, predictable, and transparent. In particular, a ban has been introduced preventing close relatives of the president from holding leadership positions in government. Nepotism in power has been blocked. This measure was also very necessary,” the President of Kazakhstan stressed.
According to him, “this crucial political and legal decision, which received broad public support, became a constitutional innovation with no analogues in the world.”
