Tengrinews.kz - The Transport Police Department reported details about a powerful explosion in the area of the old railway station in Astana, which occurred on the night of February 14.
It is reported that at 12:25 AM on the 12th track of the marshalling yard of the Astana station, a container that arrived by train exploded. There are no casualties. One person received minor cuts on his hand. There is no threat to passengers and residents of nearby areas.
"On this incident, the Transport Police Department opened a criminal case under the article ‘Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of railway transport.’ The department's management immediately left for the scene. A special task force has been created, which has already begun to clarify all the circumstances of the incident," the report says.
An investigation is currently underway, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.
