Tengrinews.kz - The population of Astana has surpassed 1.5 million, according to recent data from the Bureau of National Statistics.
As of October 1, Astana’s population reached 1,502,102, up from 1,490,740 on September 1, reflecting a monthly increase of nearly 12,000 people and a growth rate of 5.03 percent.
On October 1 of the previous year, the city’s population was 1,409,497, which rose to 1,430,105 by early 2024.
Meanwhile, Almaty’s population stood at 2,275,541, as of October 1, 2024, up from 2,211,198 the previous year.
Earlier, the Bureau of National Statistics reported Kazakhstan's population as of October 1.
