Tengrinews.kz - A plane operated by Air Astana made an emergency landing in Aktau during its flight from Almaty to Antalya. The airline’s press service confirmed the incident after reports surfaced online.

According to the airline, the Airbus A321 took off from Almaty airport at 08:35 A.M. local time on January 8. The emergency landing in Aktau was due to a technical issue.

"On January 8, Airbus A321 performing flight KC915 from Almaty to Antalya departed at 08:35 A.M. local time. Due to a malfunction of the central fuel tank safety valve, the aircraft made a standard emergency landing in Aktau. The flight has been rescheduled for January 9 at 09:20 A.M. to allow the delivery of a spare part from Almaty. Passengers were provided with meals and hotel accommodation. Similar arrangements have been made for passengers in Antalya," the airline stated.

The Aktau airport press service also confirmed the technical cause of the landing but did not provide further details.

Earlier, on December 25, a tragic crash occurred three kilometers from Aktau Airport involving an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines. The plane, en route from Baku to Grozny, attempted an emergency landing and broke apart.
