Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Svetlana Zhakupova, answered questions about upcoming pension and benefits increases.
According to the minister, more than 622 billion tenge has been allocated in the 2026 budget for increases in pensions and social payments. Planned increases are up to 10 percent, which corresponds to the current projected inflation rate of 10.5 percent.
“The increases will apply to practically all recipients of pension payments: solidarity pensions, basic pensions. It will also affect disability benefits, allowances for persons with disabilities, children with disabilities and their caregivers, as well as survivor benefits. The main basic indicators will be raised,” Zhakupova assured.
The minister specified that these increases are expected to take effect on January 1, 2026.
Earlier, Kazakhstan's labor ministry revealed the average pension in Kazakhstan as of May 1, 2025.
