The Telegram founder was dressed entirely in black. As noted by journalists, his appearance had not changed since the previous day, when he met with Kazakh schoolchildren from rural villages.
Durov opened his speech with a joke about marriage.
“It’s always a pleasure to return to one of my favorite countries — Kazakhstan. This is a unique place that combines technology, tradition, education, and family values. One of my American friends, a very successful man, once told me I should find a wife in Kazakhstan. Unfortunately, that’s not why I’m here. I came to talk about artificial intelligence,” said the Telegram founder.
During his speech, Durov announced the development of a new technology that combines the capabilities of blockchain and artificial intelligence. According to him, this will give over a billion users access to AI within a decentralized system.
“Last year, we strengthened the integration between Telegram and the telecom data center system in Kazakhstan, which allowed us to increase speed and connect an additional 12 million users. And that’s just the beginning — there’s more to come. Together, we can bring AI access to a billion people — transparently, efficiently, and with guaranteed privacy,” he added.
During the broadcast of Durov’s speech, Russian comedian and showman Nurlan Saburov was spotted in the audience. It was previously announced that he would be one of the hosts of Digital Bridge.
