One week left: Tax officials appealed to Kazakhstanis

Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstanis were reminded of the deadline for paying the transport tax for 2024. There are 7 working days left until the end of the payment deadline. This was reported by the Department of State Revenues of Almaty.

It is noted that after April 1, a penalty will be charged for each day of delay. Therefore, tax officials recommend not to delay payment.

You can calculate the tax amount yourself through the e-Salyq Azamat mobile application or on the official website of the State Revenue Committee. Starting from March 15, car owners began to receive push notifications with a preliminary calculation of the amount that can be paid through banking applications or Kazpost.

According to the department, at the end of 2024, 764 thousand vehicles owned by 456 thousand people were registered in Almaty. Compared to last year, the vehicle fleet has grown by 7%, and the amount of transport tax has increased from 19.6 to 21.9 billion tenge.

What happens if you don’t pay the tax on time?

If the tax is not paid on time, the tax authorities will begin the collection procedure. This includes debt notifications, issuing collection orders, and transferring them to private bailiffs. In turn, the bailiffs can seize the debtor’s property and bank accounts and prohibit travel abroad. It is also possible to restrict access to banking services: it will be impossible to open an account, transfer money, or apply for a loan.
