Tengrinews.kz - A suspect wanted in connection with an assault committed in Temirtau more than 12 years ago has been extradited from Dubai to Kazakhstan, citing the General Prosecutor’s Office.
According to officials, the crime took place on March 25, 2012. Investigators say the man attacked the victim without provocation, inflicting multiple injuries. As a result of the beating, the victim suffered a double jaw fracture.
Following the incident, the suspect fled and had been on the international wanted list for 12 years. Authorities were eventually able to locate him in the United Arab Emirates.
The man has now been handed over to Kazakh law enforcement. He was brought back to face criminal charges for inflicting moderate bodily harm out of hooligan motives.
Earlier, a foreign national wanted on an interstate warrant for large-scale fraud was detained in Pavlodar.
