NSC detained foreigner with someone else's passport

Tengrinews.kz - National Security Committee (NSC) detained a foreigner with someone else's passport, according to the press service of the department.

It is reported that on January 18, at the Zhibek Zholy checkpoint in the Turkestan region, a foreign citizen was detained during border control for attempting to cross the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan using someone else's passport.

The NSC noted that since the beginning of 2025, border guards have identified 16 cases of using counterfeit and other people's passports. In 2024, more than 400 similar offenses were prevented on international routes.
