Tengrinews.kz - The National Security Committee (NSC) and the "Berkut" special forces conducted a special operation to dismantle a large drug laboratory in the Pavlodar region.
It was reported that on January 18, the NSC Department for the Pavlodar region, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office and with the involvement of the "Berkut" special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, carried out an operation to eliminate a drug laboratory in Pavlodar.
"A Kazakhstani citizen was detained while manufacturing psychotropic substances and was taken into custody by court order. During the search, more than 20 kilograms of the narcotic substance 'methadone,' as well as laboratory equipment and over 1.5 tons of precursors, were seized," the statement reads.
A pre-trial investigation is underway under part 3 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code. Other information, in accordance with part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, is not subject to disclosure.
It is worth noting that earlier the NSC, in coordination with the Prosecutor's Office, detained four Kazakhstani citizens in Astana and Kosshi.
