Tengrinews.kz - Due to the earthquake that occurred in Kazakhstan on the night of March 28, several buildings in the Zhambyl region were damaged. This was reported by the regional akimat (local government administration).
According to preliminary information, cracks were found on the walls of the House of Culture in the village of Karakystak in the T. Ryskulova district, the building of the Merke district hospital, and the school building in the village of Oytal. Information on other objects is being clarified.
"On the instructions of the regional akim (governor), the regional operational headquarters is working. All life support systems are functioning normally. There are no reports of casualties. The head of the region, Erbol Karashukeev, went to T. Ryskulova and Merke districts to get acquainted with the situation on the ground," the press service of the akimat reported.

On the night of March 28, an earthquake was recorded in a number of districts of the Zhambyl region and the city of Taraz.
The highest intensity - 5 points - was recorded in the village of Merke, Merke district. In the village of Kulan, T. Ryskulov district, the earthquake strength was 4 points, in the cities of Taraz, Shu, Korday, Moyynkum districts - 2 points.
