Tengrinews.kz - On April 1, Kazakhstanis faced another failure of the eGov e-government portal, which could not withstand the influx of visitors wishing to enroll their children in first grade. The situation was commented on by Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Rostislav Konyashki.
The official confirmed that the portal failures were related to the large number of users.
"The platform was restored in a fairly short time. (...) eGov is just a window through which citizens communicate with the e-government. eGov has more than 2000 integration services with all information systems of government agencies. If at least one of the services does not work, then all the services associated with it will not work. This is a very large ecosystem," Konyashkin explained at a government briefing.
The Vice Minister also announced the launch of the updated portal eGov 3.0 this year.
"This is a completely rewritten portal. All components - some of them were launched last year - will be updated. The current eGov operates on the basis of 2013 technologies. This year you will see an updated version of the site - more convenient and more stable," the official promised, assuring that the updated version will not have such failures.
Earlier, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry announced a digital system that allows vehicle owners to be notified about various road situations has been introduced in Kazakhstan.
