Tengrinews.kz - A new direct flight will be launched from Almaty this spring.
South Korean airline Eastar Jet has announced the launch of a new direct flight Incheon – Almaty, which will begin operating flights from April 7, 2025.
"Now our passengers can easily reach Almaty, the center of Kazakhstan's culture and natural beauty. Since April, we offer you the opportunity to personally enjoy the magnificent landscapes and historical sights of this amazing city," the company said in a statement.
As Businesskorea shared, the flights will be operated twice a week: on Mondays and Fridays. The plane will depart from Incheon Airport at 7:30 PM and arrive in Almaty at 10:45 PM local time. The return flight will depart from Almaty at 11:45 PM and arrive in Incheon at 9:50 AM the next morning. The route will be the longest for the airline and will take about six hours one way. The flights will be operated on a B737-8 aircraft.
The airline noted that the company does not charge a fee for changing reservations on international flights.
By the way, citizens of Kazakhstan do not need to obtain a visa to enter South Korea. There is an agreement between the countries on the mutual abolition of visa requirements. However, Korea has an electronic entry authorization system for foreign citizens K-ETA, according to which foreigners arriving in the country under a visa-free regime must submit an electronic notification of their planned trip on the website www.k-eta.go.kr at least 24 hours before departure in order to obtain permission from the South Korean authorities to enter. It is worth noting that the application may take more than 72 hours to be processed.
