Tengrinews.kz — Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of opening another airport - this time in Ekibastuz. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev raised the issue of developing air connectivity with the city.
According to reports from the Akorda press service; the Head of State instructed the Akim of the Pavlodar region to look into the construction of a new airport.
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid special attention to the development of air links with the city of Ekibastuz, instructing the regional Akim to work on the issue of opening a new airport. The implementation of this project will significantly enhance the transport accessibility and investment attractiveness of the region, providing a new impetus for the further socio-economic development of the province," the statement reads.
For now, the focus is specifically on the project's feasibility study. No information has been released regarding the potential construction timeline, location, or investment volume.
