Tengrinews.kz - New camera traps have been installed in Katon-Karagai National Park.

Details were shared on the official Instagram account of the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife.

"In order to track the population of wild animals and monitor their movements, camera traps have been installed in the Altai forestry area of Katon-Karagai National Park. This method is an effective tool for studying nature, as it captures wildlife in their natural habitat without disturbing them," the committee stated.

Photos show the newly installed devices. A camera trap is an automatic camera that activates upon detecting movement, capturing photos or videos. It is used for monitoring wildlife, protecting territories, and conducting research. The committee emphasized that the data collected from these devices will help preserve the forest ecosystem and stabilize animal populations.

We look forward to seeing new stunning wildlife images.

Notably, in mid-January, a video of a snow leopard recorded in Katon-Karagai National Park in the East Kazakhstan region surfaced online.
