Tengrinews.kz - A camera trap recorded a moose cow with her calves at a watering hole in the Pavlodar region.
The video was posted on Yertis Ormany Nature Reserve's Instagram account.
“The camera trap captured a special moment — a moose cow came to the watering hole with two calves. Moments like these remind us how fragile and amazing nature is. Preserving it is our shared responsibility,” the reserve staff noted.

They added that male moose can reach up to 2.3 meters in height and weigh up to 600 kilograms. These animals have an excellent sense of smell and hearing, but poor eyesight.
“Males shed their antlers every year, which then grow back. Moose are strong swimmers and can cross large bodies of water. They play an important role in the ecosystem. The species is not listed in the Red Book,” the organization said.
The reserve is currently home to 246 moose.
Maral deer
Meanwhile, in the Kolsai Lakes National Park, a camera trap, installed to protect wild animals from poaching and to monitor their habitats, recorded a maral deer (Caspian red deer).
The video was posted on the park’s Instagram account.

According to the park, 564 maral deer inhabit its territory. They also confirmed that the species is not listed in the Red Book.
Recently, during a tour of Altyn-Emel National Park, a group of Italian tourists and a local guide spotted a fox — a rare moment they managed to capture on video.
