Tengrinews.kz - Health Minister Akmaral Alnazharova commented on the draft order proposing changes to the ambulance service regulations.

On her Facebook page, Alnazharova clarified that the draft does not contain provisions limiting ambulance services to the public on a 24/7 basis.

"I want to emphasize that emergency medical services will continue to be available to the public around the clock by calling 103. The changes pertain to the teams established at outpatient clinics to enhance the responsiveness and quality of service calls. We have decided to increase the number of mobile teams. Furthermore, in cases where pediatric assistance is needed, a pediatrician will be dispatched, while adults will receive specialists relevant to their needs," wrote the minister.

According to her, previously one ambulance team served 35,000 people, but under the new rules, this number has been reduced to 25,000. The work of mobile teams will be synchronized with the operating hours of outpatient clinics. After 8:00 PM and on weekends, emergency calls will be handled by ambulance teams.

"This regulation will help reduce the long wait times for ambulance services, and the public will face no obstacles in calling for help by dialing 103," concluded Akmaral Alnazharova.

Earlier, a draft order was published on the "Open Regulatory Legal Acts" portal stating that ambulances would no longer be able to serve all patients around the clock without exception. The draft will remain open for discussion until October 8.

Later, the Ministry of Health explained that the changes do not imply the cancellation of home care services.
