LRT fare in Astana revealed

Tengrinews.kz - The Astana Akimat has published a draft resolution on fare rates for light rail transit (LRT). The document has been posted on the Open NPAs portal and submitted for public discussion.

The document proposes setting the following fares for regular socially significant passenger and baggage transportation by light rail in Astana:

• 200 tenge - for both cashless and cash payment;
• 0 tenge - when using a discounted transport card.

According to the explanatory note, free travel is provided for certain categories of the capital’s residents. At the same time, the basis for exemption from fare payment is the original electronic personalized transport card.

As a reminder, earlier, during a meeting with residents of the Sarayshyk district, Astana’s akim (governor) Zhenis Kassymbek said that the exact fare for the LRT had not yet been determined.

“Preliminary pricing was in the range of 100 to 200 tenge, and for now, that’s where it stands,” Astana’s akim said at the time.
