Tengrinews.kz - Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev has announced a change that will affect schools in Kazakhstan at the start of the upcoming academic year.

According to Beisembayev, the new school year in Kazakhstan will traditionally begin on September 1 and end on May 25.

However, the date of the ceremonial assemblies marking Knowledge Day will now be determined at the school level, with the final decision left to each school's pedagogical council.

“Classes will begin on September 2. The date and time of the ceremonial assembly will be decided by the school’s pedagogical council. If a school decides it is appropriate to hold the ceremony on September 1, we will, of course, allow that,” the minister stated.
