Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has published a warning on its official website for Almaty residents.
The information concerns the air quality forecast for Thursday.
“On June 4, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty,” the statement said.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions related to air pollution are a combination of short-term meteorological factors, such as calm weather, light wind, fog and temperature inversion, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the near-surface layer of the atmosphere.
According to forecasters, partly cloudy weather is expected in Almaty, with no precipitation. Westerly wind will reach 3–8 m/s, with nighttime gusts of 15 m/s. Air temperature will be 17–19°C at night and 29–31°C during the day.
