Kazakhstan’s Vse.kz popular forum a target of hackers’ attack

One of the most popular Kazakhstan’s on-line forums, "Vse vmeste (“all together”)" has been a target of a hackers’ attack, Tengrinews.kz reports. Everyone trying to access the website faced “This is not a problem with IP.Board but rather with your SQL server. Please contact your host and copy the message shown above” message. According to the website management, the DDoS attack started August 5 afternoon. “Our team is working to restore the website. As far as possible suspicions are concerned, the old Romans would say “Is fecit, qui prodest [translated as “Done by the one who profits from it”]””, Dmitry Zimin commented, adding that the investigation is under way. July 15 another website – this time the website guljan.org launched by a famous Kazakhstan-based journalist Gulzhan Ergaliyeva – was also targeted by hackers. The website also failed on Friday. Late July tengrinews.kz reported that the number of Internet users in Kazakhstan had exceeded 5 million people (34% of the country’s population). Over 58 000 domain names have been registered in the Kazakhstan’s segment of the worldwide web. The annual growth of the figure stands at 20-25%.
