Tengrinews.kz – The Bureau of National Statistics has reported how many people were living in Kazakhstan as of June 1.
According to the data, Kazakhstan’s population as of June 1 totaled 20,370,672. On May 1, the population was 20,353,265.
The most populous areas are Almaty (2,314,929 people) and Turkestan Region (2,150,992 people).
Other densely populated regions with more than 1.5 million residents include Almaty Region (1,575,657 people) and Astana (1,566,566 people).
Regions with populations over one million also include Karaganda Region (1,133,068 people), Zhambyl Region (1,220,481 people), and Shymkent (1,274,296 people).
The majority of Kazakhstan’s population lives in urban areas: 12,877,408 people reside in cities, while 7,493,264 live in rural areas.
