Tengrinews.kz – A total of 448 citizens aged 100 and older currently live in Kazakhstan. The oldest resident of the country, a woman from Ulytau Region, recently celebrated her 115th birthday, according to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The highest number of centenarians is found in Almaty, where 58 people are aged 100 or more.
In second place is the Turkistan Region, home to 53 centenarians, followed by the Almaty Region, with 37 long-living residents.
Among the oldest Kazakhstani citizens are:
- A 115-year-old woman from Ulytau Region,
- A 113-year-old man from Pavlodar Region,
- A 110-year-old resident from Zhambyl Region.
It’s worth noting that October 1 is celebrated around the world, including in Kazakhstan, as the International Day of Older Persons, officially proclaimed by the UN General Assembly at its 45th session in December 1990.
