Kazakhstan’s global ranking in internet speed revealed

The study analyzed the average speed of mobile and fixed broadband internet in nearly 200 cities across 154 countries. The key evaluation criteria included download and upload speeds for both types of networks.
According to the report, Kazakhstan climbed one spot in the global ranking for mobile internet speed, securing 57th place with an average download speed of 53.76 Mbps. Japan follows in 58th place with 53.54 Mbps.
However, Kazakhstan’s position in fixed broadband speed is significantly lower, ranking 88th globally with an average speed of 73.67 Mbps.
The top three countries for mobile internet speed remain:
- United Arab Emirates – 453.87 Mbps
- Qatar – 383.5 Mbps
- Kuwait – 257.3 Mbps
Meanwhile, Afghanistan recorded the slowest internet speed, with an average download rate of 8.2 Mbps.
Previously, Vice-Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry Rostislav Konyashkin commented on the problem of poor internet along highways and railways.
