Constitution Day is one of the main national holidays in Kazakhstan. It commemorates the adoption of the country's Constitution in 1995, which defines the legal and political foundation of the state. The holiday is celebrated annually on August 30.
How Kazakhstanis will rest on Constitution Day in 2025
For a 5-day work week
Those who work Monday to Friday will enjoy a three-day weekend. Since August 30 falls on a Saturday, according to the Law on Holidays, the day off is moved to Monday, September 1.
- Total days off in August: 10;
- Weekend schedule: August 30 (Sat), August 31 (Sun), and September 1 (Mon).
For a 6-day work week
Those working six days a week will also get an extra day off on Saturday, August 30.
- Weekend schedule: August 30 (Sat) and August 31 (Sun). September 1 (Mon) is a regular working day;
- Total days off in August: 6.

Across the country, Constitution Day is marked by official ceremonies, concerts, and exhibitions dedicated to Kazakhstan’s history and culture. Citizens take part in various campaigns and flash mobs.
