Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstanis have taken to social media to complain that they have been unable to renew their electronic digital signatures (EDS) for several days.
Users on Threads reported various issues when trying to renew their EDS: the NCALayer program fails to work, or SMS messages from 1414 do not arrive. Some said they have been unable to obtain a new key for almost a week.
The company “National Information Technologies” JSC confirmed that there are indeed problems with EDS issuance at the moment.
“Due to high demand on the EDS issuance services, the operation of the did.gov.kz platform has slowed down. The service speed will be restored during the day,” the company stated.
As a reminder, since August 11, the issuance of EDS in Kazakhstan has been fully moved online. This measure aims to improve the protection of personal data and ensure the security of citizens’ digital identities. Previously, EDS keys could be obtained both online and by visiting public service centers.
