Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani woman wanted internationally has been detained on the Greek island of Chios, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani woman wanted internationally has been detained on the Greek island of Chios, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Kazakhstan's Interpol of MIA , in cooperation with foreign authorities, apprehended the woman, who was wanted on charges of fraud.

"In 2021, while working as an accountant at a company in Almaty, she illegally transferred $230,000 to her personal account. Authorities are currently working on extraditing her to Kazakhstan," the statement said.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office reported the extradition of another Kazakh national in Turkey, suspected of possessing and intending to sell analogs of psychotropic substances.
