Tengrinews.kz - Specialized Interdistrict Court for Administrative Offenses of Astana considered the case against citizen B. for slander on social networks, according to the court press service.
The court found that the man posted a video on social networks in which he pointed to a mansion and stated that it belonged to the chief imam of Astana and was built with donations from the population. Thus, he spread deliberately false information on social networks that defamed honor and dignity and undermined the reputation of another person.
During the court hearing, the offender fully admitted his guilt and repented. The man explained that he did not really know who owned the house and what funds it was built with, and posted the video for viewing. The victim, in turn, asked the court to punish the culprit according to the law.
The sanction of the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offenses provides for a fine of 180 MCI (707,760 tenge in 2025) or administrative arrest for 20 days.
When sentencing, the court took into account the offender's admission of guilt and his sincere repentance as mitigating circumstances. No aggravating circumstances were established.
"By the court's decision, B. was found guilty of committing an administrative offense, and he was sentenced to an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 180 monthly calculation indices (MCI). The decision has not entered into legal force," the court reported.
Earlier, a foreigner was arrested in Petropavlovsk after taking a selfie at a monument.
