Tengrinews.kz - Does artificial intelligence threaten the development of cinema in Kazakhstan? This question was answered by Vice Minister of Culture and Information Yevgeniy Kochetov at a government briefing.
A journalist asked the Vice Minister: Is there a danger for specialists in the world of cinema, who in the near future may remain uncompetitive in the labor market? To this, the Vice Minister quoted the famous American actor Timothee Chalamet.
"You know, during the last Oscar awards, Timothee Chalamet said a very good phrase that the film industry is a very subjective industry, where everything is still tailored to a person and each person evaluates this or that film differently. That is why artificial intelligence is only helpful here. It is not from the point of view of replacing a person. A person will still make the industry, no matter how you look at it. His ideas will be made, his author's content will be made," Yevgeniy Kochetov answered.
In his opinion, artificial intelligence in the film industry should simplify human work, "cut off sharp corners".
"Therefore, there are no contradictions, on the contrary, we are enthusiastically, with bated breath, waiting for a large number of young people to go into the field of cinema and art and use artificial intelligence. And we will do everything to simplify this," the official added.
Timothee Chalamet is an American and French actor. His accolades include a Screen Actors Guild Award, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards, four British Academy Film Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards. He is best known for his roles in such films as: Dune, Little Women, Wonka, and Call Me by Your Name.
By the way, earlier, mazhilis deputy Daulet Mukaev proposed restricting the use of ChatGPT by schoolchildren in Kazakhstan, citing concerns over its impact on intellectual development.
Another Mazhilis deputy Elnur Beisenbaev expressed concern about how AI could influence various industries in Kazakhstan.
