On December 19, Senate deputies approved in two readings the law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts on Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and their Precursors."
Currently, individuals suffering from drug and substance addiction often avoid registering with medical institutions at their place of residence to evade monitoring, complicating their subsequent identification and mandatory referral for supportive treatment.
"In this regard, the unified electronic database of individuals with mental and behavioral disorders (diseases) associated with the use of psychoactive substances is being introduced," stated the Senate committee's report.
