According to the minister, in addition to meeting the needs of Kazakhstan’s population, the digital infrastructure will strengthen the country’s role as a leader in ensuring regional digital connectivity.

“Through the gateway stations that Starlink has built in Kazakhstan, satellite internet will be available to neighbouring countries. For example, traffic to Tajikistan will start this year. Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan are next in line. Along the Trans-Caspian fiber-optic line, Uzbekistan is already offering offtake contracts,” Madiev noted.
