Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has announced plans to build a multifunctional hotel complex in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, using private investment, citing the government press service.
The project was discussed during the 4th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission, held in Almaty.
“During the meeting, Kazakhstan expressed its readiness to construct a multifunctional hotel complex in Belgrade with private funding,” the government said in a statement.
According to Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, the project will give a boost to tourism infrastructure and help strengthen business and cultural ties between the two countries.

Talks also touched on plans to launch a direct flight between Astana and Belgrade.
“The two sides agreed to continue exploring the possibility of extending the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route toward Europe, including Serbia, and discussed details for starting direct flights between Astana and Belgrade later this year,” the statement said.
The flights are expected to be operated by SCAT Airlines. Officials from both countries are finalizing the necessary procedures and considering extending the route from Belgrade to popular destinations such as Morocco, Tunisia, Barcelona, and Larnaca.
Plans for the direct route were first announced in November 2024, when the presidents of Kazakhstan and Serbia voiced mutual interest in increasing bilateral trade and broadening the range of goods exchanged.
