Tengrinews.kz — Kazakh weather forecasters from Kazhydromet have released the weather forecast for January 24, 25, and 26.

According to the forecast, weather conditions across Kazakhstan in the coming days will be shaped by a cyclone moving in from the Atlantic along with active atmospheric fronts. These systems are expected to bring widespread snowfall, while southern regions may see mixed precipitation in the form of rain and snow, as well as blizzards and strong winds.

What to expect from temperatures

As the cyclone moves across the country, warmer air masses will gradually spread over much of Kazakhstan, leading to a slow rise in temperatures:

  • at night in central and eastern regions: –5 to –18°C
  • in the southeast: –2 to –7°C, and –7 to –15°C in mountainous areas
  • in northern regions, severe frost will persist, with nighttime temperatures ranging from –20 to –35°C

At the same time, forecasters warn that a ridge of high pressure containing cold Arctic air will extend into western Kazakhstan. This will cause nighttime temperatures to drop to –15 to –30°C, and in the northwest — down to –20 to –35°C.
