Kazakhstan ready to promote US investment in Central Asia – Tokayev

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan, as a regional economic power, is ready to play a leading role in promoting investment and expanding the presence of American businesses in Central Asia.

According to the press service of Akorda, this was stated on Monday, September 22, by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a roundtable meeting with U.S. business representatives in New York.

It was noted that further cooperation within the C5+ and B5+ formats could give new momentum to these efforts.

Tokayev informed participants about the country’s ongoing economic and political reforms.

“Kazakhstan has set a clear goal: to build a knowledge- and innovation-based economy with a strong focus on digital transformation. Our economy plays a key role in the region’s development,” the President said.

Tokayev emphasized the significant contribution of American businesses to Kazakhstan’s progress in achieving this milestone.

“In the first eight months of this year, the country's economy grew by 6.5 percent. We intend to maintain this high growth rate through large-scale political and economic reforms,” he stated.

According to Tokayev, the ongoing strategy aims to enhance Kazakhstan’s attractiveness for foreign direct investment.

Earlier, during his speech at the roundtable, the Head of State described the development and strengthening of Kazakhstan’s strategic partnership with the United States as a long-term priority of the country’s foreign policy.
