Tengrinews.kz - Domestic trade rules are planned to be amended in Kazakhstan. According to the proposed amendments, cafes and restaurants may be prohibited from charging tips and deposits from clients.

This was announced today on the sidelines of the Senate by the Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliyev.

"We have studied the legislation and concluded that a public offer at the entrance of an establishment constitutes agreement to the terms of service. We are preparing changes to the internal trade rules to eliminate additional charges if the cost of service already includes a service fee", said the minister.

According to Shakkaliyev, some businesses do not want to support such changes.

"It’s clear that not everyone is ready to support such changes, however we are preparing them. This concerns mandatory tipping and various fees", said Shakkaliyev.

Earlier it was reported that non-refundable airline tickets will be prohibited to sell in Kazakhstan.
