Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to acquire two firefighting drones, according to the ministry’s head Chingis Arinov.
According to Arinov, the drones will be used to combat fires in high-rise buildings.
"This year, we are acquiring 728 units of special vehicles and over 18,000 pieces of equipment and gear through both the national and local budgets, as well as via leasing. Priority will be given to district units," Arinov said during a government meeting.
He also mentioned a pilot project in Akmola region, where a new multi-purpose unit has been established, combining firefighters, medical personnel, and rescuers.
"Our approach to building fire stations has been revised. For example, a new fire station made from prefabricated structures has been operating in Astana since August, completed in just 3.5 months. This construction model will be implemented nationwide. Overall, we need 121 fire stations across the country," the minister noted.
Recall: On October 6, a fire broke out in dry grass near the village of Koyandy in the Karkaraly district of the Karaganda region. A steppe fire reached the territory of a local farm in the Pavlodar region, covering an area of about 6,000 hectares. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported the successful extinguishment of a natural fire in Pavlodar region.
