Tengrinews.kz – The import of drywall into Kazakhstan has been temporarily banned. The corresponding order was signed by the Minister of Trade and Integration.

According to the document, the ban applies for three months to the import of boards, sheets, panels, and similar products made of gypsum (EAEU HS code 6809110000) that are coated or reinforced only with paper or cardboard.

The ban affects supplies from third countries, meaning those outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It is noted that the document was developed to ensure the workload of domestic producers and to protect the internal market.

The decision is based on the laws “On Trade Regulation” and “On National Security”, as well as the provisions of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. The ban applies to all modes of transport.

The order will take effect on July 22, 2025.
