Kazakhstan extends ban on fuel exports to the end of 2011

Kazakhstan has extended the ban on exports of fuels to the end of 2011, Novosti Kazakhstan reports, citing a source in the Government.According to the source, “the Government has adopted a resolution to extend the ban on fuel exports for another half a year”.On the sidelines of a government session in Astana June 26 Kazakhstan's Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev had informed journalists that Kazakhstan intends to prolong the ban on export of fuel till the beginning of October.The current ban on fuels exports is in effect before July 1. The ban has been introduced to prevent fuel deficit and consequent price hikes during the grain sowing campaign.
