Kazakhstan expects snow this weekend

Tengrinews.kz – Meteorologists have released a forecast for the coming days and weekend, indicating rain and snow in several regions of Kazakhstan.
According to the forecast for October 7-13, most of the country will be under the influence of a vast northwestern anticyclone at the beginning of this period.
The weather is expected to be mostly dry, with rain anticipated only in the northern, eastern, and southeastern regions as atmospheric fronts move through. In mountainous areas, rain is expected to turn into snow.
“Starting October 9, a western cyclone will move into the country, bringing precipitation and stronger winds initially in the west and then across much of Kazakhstan. By the end of the period, rain may turn to snow in the northern regions," warned Kazhydromet, the national hydrometeorological service of Kazakhstan.
According to meteorologists, rain is expected:
- October 9-11: in the West Kazakhstan region;
- October 9-12: in the Atyrau, Mangystau, and Aktobe regions;
- October 10-13: in the Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions, and Ulytau region;
- October 8-13: in the North Kazakhstan, Akmolinsk, and Pavlodar regions;
- October 11-13: in the Karaganda region;
- On October 7, 9, and from October 11 to 13: in the Abai region;
- From October 7-9 and from October 11 to 13: in the East Kazakhstan region;
- October 11-13: in the Zhambyl, Almaty regions, and in the Zhetysu region.
Rain changing to snow is expected:
- October 11-13: North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions;
- October 12-13: Akmolinsk, Pavlodar, Karaganda, and Ulytau regions;
- October 12-13: Abai and East Kazakhstan regions;
- October 12: Aktobe region;
- October 7-8 and October 13: Mountainous areas of Almaty and Zhetysu regions.
Heavy rain is expected:
- October 10: Aktobe region;
- October 11: Southern Kostanay region and western Ulytau region;
- October 12: Abai region;
- October 11-13: Turkestan and Zhambyl regions;
- October 12-13: Almaty region and Jetysu region.
Heavy precipitation (rain, snow) is expected:
- October 7 and 13: Mountainous areas of Almaty and Zhetysu regions;
- October 11-13: Mountainous areas of Zhambyl region;
- October 13: Abai and East Kazakhstan regions;
- October 12: Karaganda and Pavlodar regions.
Overall, an increase in wind is expected across Kazakhstan, with fog during the night and early morning hours.
"Thunderstorms are forecasted in the south and southeast of the country. On October 12-13, icy conditions are expected in the northern and eastern regions of the country. An increase in wind is anticipated across Kazakhstan, and fog will occur during night and morning hours," the meteorologists reported.
